Places we’ve loved…

I really thought I should share some of the inspiring and amazing places that I’ve been lucky enough to stay at in my time traveling. As both a travel writer (b4 I got a green conscience) in the southern hemisphere and recently in Europe.

From Greenwood Guides:

Naires Namakwa Retreat – wow, what an amazing place. Truly inspiring and truly off the beaten track.

Mount Cedar – also off the beaten track, extraordinary rock formations here, the cottages perch on them and look down on the green river. It’s like being on the moon. With great food.

Ardmore Farm – I loved this place. The farm is wonderful and the nearby gallery is wonder full. The galleries success is global and well deserved. They have combined the local peoples ability for arts with fine art techniques for sculpture and glazing. The business, a social enterprise, sells its animal sculptures at some of the top galleries around the world. Well worth a look via this link. Ardmore Studios.

Domaine du Freyche. What a lovely place. Still. Silent. And away from everywhere. But still close enough to pop into UNESCO town St Emillion for lunch. Fab.

I feel I have to add Achamore House, a Sawdays original, on the Isle of Giha,
We visited this fab place in 2009 and it was magical, ask for tour of the orchid house, very special, borrow bikes and go to the only pub on the island, totally brilliant.
