OK, I won’t drag on myself. Here’s the article. (unfortunately articles like this don’t really help the baby pulling the dogs tail, sweeps the floor or gets the shopping, bummer that).
Beaulieu, Hampshire. (it’s 5 mins drive from the cottage).
However you get your fresh-air kicks – long walks, bird- or wildlife-spotting, pony trekking, sailing or cycling – the New Forest, with more than 200 sq miles of woodland, heath and grassland, will be able to cater for it. Beaulieu stands out among its many villages. Staggeringly pretty, if slightly feudal in feel, it is the seat of Lord Montagu, and thus immaculate – it has a quaint high street down which the forest’s ponies freely wander. Take a gentle walk down to Buckler’s Hard or book a canoeing or kayaking course at the Old Forge. You’ll find stables in nearby Brockenhurst.
Would suit. Keen twitchers craving the quiet life.
Property prices. Detached homes, fronting the forest, cost more than £800,000.
We won over, Brecon in Powys, Chagford in Devon, Dedham in Essex, Fowey in Cornwall and quite a few others.
